Product Detail	Cysteine protease, a cysteine protease required for cytoplasm-to-vacuole transport (Cvt) and autophagy. It cleaves the C-terminal amino acids of the ATG8 family proteins MAP1LC3, GABARAPL1, GABARAPL2, and GABARAP, thereby exposing the C-terminal glycine. The exposure of glycine at the C-terminus is essential for the binding of ATG8 proteins to phosphatidylethanolamine (PE) and their insertion into membranes, which is necessary for autophagy.
