Product Detail	A regulatory component of the CyclinD3-CDK4 (DC) complex, which phosphorylates and inhibits members of the retinoblastoma (RB) protein family, including RB1, and regulates the cell cycle during the G(1)/S transition. Phosphorylation of RB1 causes the transcription factor E2F to dissociate from the RB/E2F complex, and subsequently transcribes E2F target genes responsible for G(1) phase progression. Hypophosphorylates RB1 in early G(1) phase. The CyclinD-CDK4 complex is a major integrator of various mitogenic and anti-mitogenic signals. It is also a substrate of SMAD3, phosphorylates SMAD3 in a cell cycle-dependent manner and inhibits its transcriptional activity. A component of the CyclinD3/CDK4/CDKN1B ternary complex, which is necessary for the nuclear translocation and activity of the CyclinD-CDK4 complex.
