Product Detail	Serine/threonine protein kinases perform several important functions during the M phase of the entire cell cycle, including the regulation of centrosome maturation and spindle assembly, the removal of cohesin from chromosome arms, the inactivation of anaphase-promoting complex/cyclosome (APC/C) inhibitors, and the regulation of mitotic exit and cytokinesis. Polo-like kinase proteins act through binding and phosphorylation, and these proteins have been phosphorylated on specific motifs recognized by the Polo box domain. They play a key role in centrosome function and bipolar spindle assembly by phosphorylating KIZ, NEDD1, and NINL. Phosphorylation of NEDD1 promotes the subsequent targeting of the γ-tubulin ring complex (gTuRC) to the centrosome, which is an important step in spindle formation.
