Introduction: Stem cell factor (SCF) is a kind of hematopoietic growth factor that plays an active role in early hematopoietic production. SCFS stimulate the proliferation of myeloid, erythroid, and lymphoid progenitors in bone marrow culture and act in concert with colony-stimulating factors. SCF plays an important role in hematopoiesis, spermatogenesis and melanin production. It also promotes mast cell adhesion, migration, proliferation and survival. Human SCF and dog, cat, rat and rat SCF have a total of 79-87% a.a. Sequence homology. In addition, the activity of human SCF against mouse cells was weak. Recombinant Human stem cell factor (rhSCF) is a glycosylated polypeptide chain composed of 165 amino acids. rhSCF is a fully bioactive molecule with a molecular weight of about 20kDa by SDS-PAGE reduction.
