Product Detail	This protein is a type I transmembrane glycoprotein and is homologous to the pMEL17 precursor, a melanocyte-specific protein. GPNMB is expressed in low-metastatic human melanoma cell lines and xenografts but not in high-metastatic cell lines. GPNMB may be involved in growth retardation and reduction of metastatic potential. Two transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been identified for this gene.
