Product Detail	The 2-oxoglutarate dehydrogenase (E1) component of the 2-oxoglutarate dehydrogenase complex (OGDHC). The 2-oxoglutarate dehydrogenase complex catalyzes the complete conversion of 2-oxoglutarate to succinyl-CoA and CO₂. The 2-oxoglutarate dehydrogenase complex is mainly active in the Mitochondrion. A portion of the 2-oxoglutarate dehydrogenase complex is also localized in The nucleus and is required for the expression of histone lysine succinylation in the Mitochondrion: it binds to KAT2A on chromatin and provides succinyl-CoA to the histone succinyltransferase KAT2A.
