Synopsis: Interleukin-6 (IL-6) is a multipotent cytokine that regulates a variety of cellular functions, including cell proliferation, cell differentiation, immune defense mechanisms, and hemocytogenesis. IL-6 regulates immune response, acute response and hematopoietic function, and plays an important role in anti-infection immune response. IL-6 is secreted by T cells and macrophages to stimulate the immune response. The biological effects of IL-6 are mainly reflected in inducing B-cell differentiation to produce immunoglobulin, promoting the proliferation and growth of T cells, enhancing the differentiation of blood cells and its anti-tumor effect, and promoting the proliferation of bone marrow hematopoietic stem cells.

Recombinant human interleukin 6 (rhIL-6) is a single non-glycation polypeptide chain containing 185 amino acids. rhIL-6 has complete biological activity and its molecular weight is 20.9kDa.
