The aim of fixation is to prserve original morphological structure of cells and tissues. Fixative prevents endogenous lysosomal enzymes from lyzing own tissue and cells and inhibits bacteria and fungal growth. Fixatives are categorized into aldehyde-based fixatives， mercury-based fixatives， alcohol-based fixatives， oxidizing fixatives， and picric acid salt fixatives. Among these， formalin (an aldehyde) and ethanol (an alcohol) are the most commonly used.

Solarbio Eco-Friendly Tissue Fixative (Ready-to-Use) is prepared using plant polysaccharide and polyvinyl alcohol as raw material， without toxic components such as formaldehyde and is environment-friendly nontoxic fixative. Its fixation on regular parrafin sections exhibits clear structure and high background contrast. In immunohistochemistry and molecular pathology technology， its effect is better than aldehyde-based fixative， and most antibodies are free of subsequent antigen retrieval treatment， which reduces false positive due to fixation. The morphological structure of fixed sections are the same as formalin fixed ones， with clear tissue cell structures and there is no defect such as cytoplasmic vacuolization and pyknosis. It can thoroughly sustitute formaldehyde to be regular tissue cell fixativie in pathology tissue cell laboratory and reduce damage to environment and health of personnels in pathology and surgery departments. It is primarily used for routine histological section preparation and staining， traditional histochemical staining， immunohistochemistry， and other novel molecular pathology techniques such as in situ molecular hybridization.

This fixative is suitable for the fixation of most tissues and cells， and is one of the most commonly used fixatives in immunohistochemistry and cultured cell fixation. It effectively preserves the morphological structure and nucleic acids of tissues and cells. This reagent is intended for research use only and should not be used for clinical diagnosis or other purposes.
