This product is a novel deep red fluorescent probe that can detect mitochondrial membrane potential, specifically staining mitochondria in living cells. Simply incubating with the cells allows for a bright crimson fluorescence that can be produced by passive transport across the cell membrane and aggregated in biologically active mitochondria.
This product can only be used for mitochondrial fluorescent labeling of living cells, and cannot be used for fixed cells or tissues, nor can it be fixed or permeabilized after staining. For small amounts of liquid, centrifuge for a few seconds before each use to allow the liquid to settle sufficiently to the bottom of the tube.
Fluorochromes have quenching problems, please try to avoid light to slow down the fluorescence quenching.
Please bring your own cell culture plates, coverslips, glass slides, etc.
