Product Introduction:

Cytoskeleton generally refers to the fibrous network that crisscles the cytoplasm of eukaryotic cells. According to the fiber diameter, composition and assembly structure, cytoskeleton is divided into microtubules, microfilaments and intermediate fibers. The methods for observing cytoskeleton include electron microscopy, histochemistry, enzyme labeling and immunofluorescence. Microfilaments are fibers composed of actin, which together with certain binding proteins form different subcellular structures in different types of cells (such as muscle filaments, intestinal epithelial microvillus axes, stress fibers, etc.).

Microfilament staining kit (R250 method) mainly uses Coomassie Brilliant blue R250 to show stress fibers composed of microfilaments. Coomassie Brilliant blue R250 can stain a variety of proteins but not microfilaments specifically. Under the condition of this method, due to the unstable structure of microtubules, some types of fibers are too thin to be identified under the optical microscope, so the fibers that can be seen are mainly stress fibers composed of microfilaments with a diameter of about 40nm. This fiber is particularly developed in adherent cells cultured in vitro due to attachment of cells to medium materials and maintenance of a flat spreading shape.
