Product Introduction:

Lipids are a general term for neutral fats, lipids, and their derivatives. Their common physical properties are that they are insoluble in water and easily soluble in organic solvents such as ethanol and ether. Neutral fats are lipids composed of three molecules of fatty acids and one molecule of glycerol, which are neutral. Neutral fats are one of the ways to store energy, releasing energy during oxidation. Under normal circumstances, except for adipocytes, other cells can hardly see lipid droplets under an optical microscope. If a large number of lipid droplets appear in the cytoplasm, it is considered steatosis, which is commonly seen in liver cells, myocardial cells, renal tubular epithelial cells, etc. Neutral fat staining often uses methods such as Sudan II, Sudan III, Sudan IV, Sudan Black B, and Oil Red O. The mechanism of Sudan dye lipid staining is generally believed to be the lipolysis and adsorption of physics. By utilizing the principle that the solubility of Sudan dyes in lipids is greater than that in organic solvents, the dye is transferred from the dye solution to the dyed lipids during dyeing, resulting in the lipids exhibiting the color of the dye solution.
The Sudan Ⅲ Stain Kit includes Sudan III Staining Solution and Mayer Hematoxylin Staining Solution, mainly used to display lipid droplets in tissues, organs and cells, identify lipid degeneration and abnormal deposition of lipid like substances in tissues and organs, and can also dye the nucleus blue. The specimen should not be fixed in a solution containing lipophilic reagents such as ethanol and acetone (10% neutral formalin can be used for fixation), nor should paraffin sections be used. Instead, frozen sections or carbon wax sections should be used.
