Product Introduction:

Lipids are a general term for neutral fats, lipids, and their derivatives. Their common physical properties are insoluble in water and easily soluble in organic solvents. Neutral fat is a lipid composed of three molecules of fatty acids and one molecule of glycerol, which is neutral. Under normal circumstances, except for adipocytes, other cells can hardly see lipid droplets under an optical microscope. If a large number of lipid droplets appear in the cytoplasm, it is considered steatosis, commonly seen in liver cells, myocardial cells, renal tubular epithelial cells, etc.Neutral fat stains often use Sudan II, Sudan III, Sudan IV, Sudan black B, oil red O and so on.
The Sudan Black B Stain Kit (for Cells) uses the Sudan Black B method. Its principle is that Sudan Black B is a lipophilic dye that can dissolve in the lipid containing structures in the cytoplasm, making lipids such as fats, phospholipids, and cholesterol appear brown black or dark black and located in the cytoplasm, making it more suitable for lipid staining of cellular samples. The specimen should not be fixed in a solution containing lipophilic reagents such as ethanol and acetone (10% formalin can be used for fixation if necessary).
